Atlas Copco reveals its distributor of the year

Atlas Copco has named Peterborough-based Anglian Compressors & Equipment as its Distributor of the Year 2020.

Presenting the award, Alexander Pavlov, general manager of Atlas Copco Compressors, commented: “This is a truly impressive achievement. To become first in premier ranking within the company’s nationwide distribution network is due testimony to Anglian’s teamwork, focus and dedication to building strong customer relationships, and pro-active technical support.

"It is particularly gratifying to see them win this accolade in a year challenged by the pandemic and while their business itself was undergoing a major refurbishment project.”

Relieved and triumphant

Anglian’s managing director Richard Hewitt is both relieved and triumphant to have repeated the company’s award-winning performance last achieved back in 2011, and was spurred on to success after being just pipped to the post for the title last year by strong competition.

As he explains: “After a 4% level of growth in 2019, we were determined to book more Atlas Copco product orders than any other member of the distribution network. Consequently, we achieved a 29% growth by the end of 2020, which we can attribute to our focus on energy-efficient, advanced VSD compressor solutions, to doubling sales volume of AIRnet pipework installations and realising a healthy 29% increase in compressor service contracts, among other factors.

"We have been successful in creating value for our customers not only through compressed air solutions, but by introducing Atlas Copco’s on-site nitrogen and oxygen generation systems, too.”

Company-wide mantra

He went on to say that Anglian Compressors’ mantra of ‘do the right thing’ applies at every level of the company's business, to customers, suppliers and to all of the 20-strong support team: "Everything we achieve is the result of hard work by a valued and trusted team, allowing us to increase trust and loyalty in the longstanding relationships we have with our customer base. It is through these internal and external relationships that, even in these difficult times, we have been able to expand our reach to further business opportunities.”

Anglian Compressors has been an Atlas Copco Premier distributor for compressor systems since the founding of the company in 1977. Since then, it has won many other plaudits and awards for its sales and service successes.
