EMKA strengthens its presence on the US market
EMKA has opened a new sales location in Dallas, Texas as it looks to expand its presence in the strategically important US market. In the future, EMKA systems will be assembled and shipped to customers in the USA and neighbouring countries from this new facility.
Since its foundation, EMKA USA has been one of the largest subsidiaries of the EMKA Group. More than 40 people are employed at the production site in Middletown, Pennsylvania. With the opening of the new sales location in Dallas, EMKA wants to position itself more broadly for the future. The new facility has an area of almost 850 square metres. So far, only the assembly of individual components has taken place on site. Production remains in Middletown.
With the subsidiary in Dallas, EMKA has opened a centrally located site to serve customers on the West Coast more quickly and reduce costs and lead times for deliveries. Ernie Ruzza, managing director of EMKA USA, sees the expansion as an important signal to the market. As the world market leader in the field of locking technology, the new subsidiary in Texas will enable us to significantly expand our reach once again. At the same time, we avoid being labelled as a purely regional provider on the large US market.
The expansion also provides EMKA with an additional location as a backup or safety net to protect against possible future crises and supply chain bottlenecks. In the long term, EMKA is aiming for broader regional market penetration and an expansion of capacity in this market. The locking expert currently assumes that around 30 percent of total sales will be generated via the new sales location in 2024.
If the development continues as we expect, plans for local production are also conceivable in the future, says Ruzza, looking to the future.
