GeKu Automation

GeKu was established by joint owners John Hudson and Nigel Richardson in 1983, initially to provide service, programming and support for Cincinnati Robot users.

GeKu Automation

The company later became the UK sales & support agent for GeKu Automatisierungssysteme GmbH, a German Robotics manufacturer, based near Hannover. GeKu draws its name from the combination of two robotics pioneers, Thorsten Gerling and Uwe Kusse, who designed and manufactured the GeKu cartesian robot that is still popular in the plastics industry.

Today Geku UK has become a preferred integrator for a number of robot manufacturers, with its closest partner being ABB. Geku is an ABB approved AVP and offers bespoke solutions across many industries including aerospace, plastics, automotive and agricultural. Based in Rochester, Kent, the business specialises in the supply and installation of robots - including cobots - from many leading manufacturers and also offers pre-owned robots too.

The company provides programming and servicing together with a design service. Readers of MachineBuilding.net may also be interested in the GeKu online 'Return on investment calculator', a handy tool that provides instant and accurate data where costs are concerned.
