Peter Swanson of Oxford-based adhesives specialists Intertronics, has published a White Paper on the subject of how best to manage blooming in an adhesives process
Cyanoacrylates (CAs) are a popular adhesive choice for many applications, says Swanson. They are easy to use, single-part adhesives that cure quickly at room temperature, offer good throughput and are suitable for bonding a range of substrates including metals, plastics, elastomers and porous materials. However, one downside of their fast curing speed is that they are quite volatile, which can cause blooming. This paper offers some valuable insights into how to combat this. Read it here.
