Intertronics has launched the IUV301 LED UV Curing Chamber, giving engineers in R&D, process development and production a straightforward way to establish and run controlled, repeatable UV curing processes. The compact enclosed chamber provides adjustable intensity and exposure time, allowing curing conditions to be optimised for the application and reproduced consistently.
The principle behind UV curing is remarkably simple: expose a suitable UV curable material to light of the appropriate wavelength and intensity for sufficient time, and cure can take place within seconds. Developing and running a robust and repeatable production process, however, requires those variables to be understood and controlled.
"If you want to get into UV curing, this is the place you start," said Simon Gibbs, Technical Sales Specialist at Intertronics. "The controlled, enclosed curing chamber gives you the opportunity to evaluate the curing process properly and establish the right conditions that work for your application."
Also known as a UV curing oven, the IUV301 is designed for fast, safe and controlled curing of UV curable adhesives, coatings, inks and encapsulants. Its compact, enclosed benchtop format suits R&D and process development areas, laboratories and the production floor. It operates from standard mains power and is available with 365 nm, 385 nm or 405 nm LED wavelengths to match your material's curing.
The IUV301's highly reflective internal surfaces provide uniform UV exposure across the curing area, while adjustable intensity and exposure time help maintain consistent conditions between cycles. Curing within an enclosed chamber reduces operator-dependent variables, helping manufacturers achieve a more consistent and repeatable process.
UV shielding and safety interlocks protect operators from exposure to UV light. This combination makes the IUV301 equally applicable to a start-up developing its first UV curing process, an R&D or quality laboratory, a process development or improvement team, or an established manufacturer looking for a practical production curing solution.
In addition to the IUV301, Intertronics is also releasing the IUV110 LED UV Spot Curing Lamp for small-area curing and the IUV105 Cordless LED UV Spot Curing Pen. The new products lower the cost of adopting UV curing by providing straightforward, fit-for-purpose equipment for applications that do not require the capabilities of higher specification UV curing systems.
Intertronics supplies UV curing materials and equipment for applications ranging from initial trials and process development to established production, backed by technical support from its applications specialists.
