Small hose clips for key jobs

Jubilee® Clips worm drive hose clip’s smallest size has an adjustment range of 9.5 to 12mm, but for machine builders needing security for hoses smaller than this, the Gillingham, Kent-based manufacturer offers its Jubilee® Juniors nut and bolt clips

These mini clips, also known colloquially as nut and bolt clips, are stated by manufacturers L Robinson & Co to be well suited for use on small bore hoses with relatively low pressures where little clamping force is required. They are adjusted by a single bolt and are available in mild steel zinc plated and marine grade 304 stainless steel. The Jubilee® Junior (nut and bolt) clip has a 7mm hexagonal head screw and is claimed to be well suited for applications such for securing fuel, heater and other small bore hoses. The clips are available in working diameters ranging from 7mm up to 19mm (up to 16mm in 304 stainless steel) and provide a tightening torque of 2 Nm maximum.

Jubilee® ‘O’ Clips are widely used for maintenance and OEM applications, mainly on air, fluid, gas and steam lines but they are also suitable for low pressure hydraulic applications. Sometimes referred to as “Lemon Clips” due to their shape they are also referred to as double ear clips or 2-ear clips. The absence of a screw mechanism allows these clips to be useful on very small hoses, down to 3mm working diameter. The tamper proof nature of the fitting may also make them suitable for applications where there may be a risk associated with any interference to the fitting.

Pincers are used to crimp the ears of the clamps and effect a proper seal. 2-ear clamps are installed by closing one ear fully first: the second ear is then closed so that the first ear opens slightly. This builds a resilient strength into the clamp in a spring-like action to hold against pressure, vibration and hose shrinkage due to temperature changes or ageing.

Sometimes referred to as 'Lemon clips' these clamps can be specified for working diameters down to just 3mm
