Springs ideal for tight spaces

Lee Spring offers wave springs which it says are ideal for applications with limited or tight space requirements. The Lee Spring REDUX wave compression spring series can help to reduce operating height but without sacrificing the normal operation of a conventional type compression spring.

As assemblies grow smaller, and conventional round wire compression springs won’t fit into smaller designs, consider incorporating a REDUX wave spring into your next project.

Wave springs normally occupy less area relative to the amount of work they can do. In fact, REDUX wave springs can reduce the size and weight of the assembly by up to 50%. They are manufactured from a flat material made of Type 17-7 stainless steel, with continuous and precise coils with uniform diameters and waves. They are offered in diameters from 0.75” (9.52mm) to 1.25” (31.75mm) to meet load requirements from 4 lbs (1.8 kg) to 30 lbs (13.6 kg).

Lee Spring offers over 25,000 catalogue designs for immediate shipping, plus springs custom made to your specifications.

Flexible structural adhesive prevents glass shattering at Heathrow Terminal 5
Glass is one of the most striking features of Terminal 5 at Heathrow Airport, but also a potential vulnerability. In the event of a terror attack shattering the glass, a high percentage of injuries in an explosion or bomb blast are caused by flying glass fragments rather than any incendiary device itself. Ensuring that can’t happen is a bonding solution from Advanced Adhesives.
