Tapes manufacturer bonds with neighbour
Milton Keynes based bonding experts Lohmann Technologies has responded to an unusual request from the business next door
For more than 130 years Intertek has provided its customers with assurances about the safety and quality of their products, processes and systems. But for 130 minutes recently, it relied on its neighbour Lohmann Technologies for some much valued support.
In urgent need of a new electrical generator as part of its ongoing programmes for customers, Intertek realised that the only practical way that the new piece of plant could be installed was to take a short flight from the Lohmann factory yard next door to its place at the Intertek facility. Aided by a crane of course.
Because it would block Lohmann’s permanently busy dispatch bay, the lifting of the 6.5 tonne generator took place over a weekend, and thanks to the facilities provided by the Lohmann team it is now installed and working perfectly.
Lohmann Technologies Managing Director Roger Churchill observed “Normally we bond with clients by giving them a lift on matters of assembly engineering, but in this case it was simply a case of providing access for a neighbour in need!”
