New owners for Industrial Technology Magazine

The UK’s popular design engineering magazine, Industrial Technology, has been sold by previous owner George Bennett to the Kent-based specialist engineering publishers The Engineering Network Ltd (TEN).

The sale, effective 1st September 2021, sees Industrial Technology magazine and its associated website join TEN’s other market leading brands including MachineBuilding.net and Fastening&Bonding.net under the leadership of TEN md Luke Webster and publisher Mark Newby.

Both Webster and Newby are engineering design press veterans going as far back as 1982, adding valuable experience to a team that includes Industrial Technology Magazine’s widely respected and experienced Editor Mark Simms. Commenting on the change of ownership Simms says “The timing is perfect, and the new, expanded team likewise. I am delighted to be entering a welcome period of resurgence for a superb journal that I have helped build for more than 20 years!”

Luke Webster adds “Few would argue that Mark Simms is recognised as being amongst the very best Editors in the engineering design press and we’re so pleased to be working with him on Industrial Technology. We are also delighted to say that Industrial Technology sales stalwarts Mark West, David Harman, Jan Anderson and Steve Brotherton are also part of our team. Coupled with our experienced circulation management team headed by Andy Kirk and our Creative Director John Fisher we’re looking forward to taking an already excellent magazine and website to a new level.”

Webster hints at plans already in process to enhance the Industrial Technology brand by developing the magazine, website and newsletter whilst refreshing the circulation. “Publishers that recognise the new design engineering landscape where readership and online usage are concerned are the ones that will deliver the best experiences for readers, users and therefore advertisers”.
